Privacy Policy

Find a Ride is an independent availability-alert service that helps participating local drivers learn when riders are looking for rideshare service in the Emporia area.

Information we collect

The public rider-alert button does not ask for a rider’s name, phone number, email address, destination, or precise location. We may use limited technical information, such as an IP address and browser storage, to prevent abuse and enforce alert limits.

Drivers who voluntarily join the alert list may provide their name, email address, mobile phone number, service area, and messaging preferences. People who contact us through a form provide the information they enter in that form.

How we use information

Riders may optionally request text or email updates for an active alert. If you choose this, we collect and verify that contact detail, save a basic contact profile, and record your chosen method, the consent wording and version, when consent was given, verification, and any stop request. We use these records to send the updates you requested and prevent misuse. These updates end with the alert and do not enroll you in marketing. Each update includes a link to stop further updates.

We use information to operate Find a Ride, send requested driver alerts, record driver responses, answer questions, prevent misuse, and maintain the service.

Mobile information

Mobile phone numbers, SMS consent, and opt-in data are not sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We may share information with service providers only as needed to deliver messages and operate the service, or when required by law.

SMS choices

Drivers and riders may reply STOP to stop SMS alerts and HELP for help. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Rider updates are limited to the current alert.
